Your Purpose as Manufacturing Operations Manager Manage and oversee delivery requirements for the manufacturing operations (incl. workshop and site operations). Support large projects for packages delivered in house. The Manaufacturing Operations Manager of Framatome UK Nuclear Service is responsible for the delivery of manufacturing requirements to satisfy the business and project needs, both on and off site. About the Manufacturing Operations Manager Role: Responsible for the overall organisation, management direction and control of all functions within the fabrication business to ensure that production output is maximised. This includes workload and resource management, performance management, HSE and quality of the fabrication activities in relation to the business, budget and costs associated to fabrication. Direct management of simple build to print order. To organise and control all operations within the fabrication and site facility to achieve all output targets in terms of production quantity, quality, and customer service requirements. To ensure all work is carried out in accordance to the highest health, safety, and environmental standards. Perform a wide range of engineering tasks to include but not be limited to the following: · Maintain and enhance nuclear safety culture as an overriding priority · Oversee the implementation of workshop processes/procedures · Manage site and workshop managers on the day-to-day running of the fabrication facility and site works at an operational level and the organisation and distribution of work. · Work closely with Framatome Nuclear Services Senior Project Manager to ensure that all costs are controlled in line with budgetary requirements, which includes monitoring and controlling cost estimates, spend on consumables and manpower. · Accountable for the annual budget and monthly forecasts. · Operational management of the Quality resource(s) to ensure that all outputs meet the desired quality specification with no rework · Operational Management of the HSE resource(s) to ensure that all work is conducted in a safe, healthy and environmentally sound way · Develop all necessary policies and procedures to ensure that plant and equipment is effectively maintained to ensure maximum production efficiency · Organise the workshop and site procurement, delivery, and storage of materials in relation to specific projects · Lead meetings with the client (incl. internal project managers) and provide reports to meet the requirements of the contract(s) · Manage the site and workshop managers to ensure that subcontractor activities including compiling tender documents and creating work packs for subcontract requirements, obtaining quotations and placement of orders and monitoring quality of output · Developing new wins through close customer relationships and supporting tenders as required · Support the Tender team to compile estimates and quotations for fabrication and site works Required Attributes: § HND or Degree in relevant Engineering or Manufacturing discipline § IOSH / NEBOSH safety certificate (highly desirable) § Knowledge of relevant ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, (phone number removed) and working knowledge of IMS systems § Management of a live fabrication workshop and site works (5+ years’ experience). Specific experience of planning resources, workload, space utilisation. § Good knowledge of manufacturing process and procedure in the context of performance management (LEAN, Six Sigma) § Experience in manufacturing and site work for Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Nuclear type industries § Have good understanding of finance, budget, and materials cost management § A comprehensive understanding of the health, safety and environmental requirements of managing an industrial fabrication facility Desired Attributes: § Project management Prince 2 or AMP § CSCS Managers and Professionals Test § Member of an appropriate professional body or working towards (CIOB, AMP, PMI etc.) § Extensive experience of managing manufacturing, supply of equipment and site work projects (NEC, FIDIC etc) of £10M+ § Workshop fabrication with Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel § Knowledge of Welding, Inspection Techniques and Non-Destructive Testing § Ability to participate to tender and provide price estimates § Management of fabrication, welding, and quality professionals § Knowledge of casting and pattern design, Primavera etc. § Experience with automated welding processes § Planning shopfloor layout, expansion of existing or new facilities § Maintenance of existing equipment, facilities, and upgrades Desired Personal Characteristics: § Confident manner, good presentation skills § Determination - not easily discouraged or put off § Passion, enthusiasm, and charisma. § Innovative – prepared to see beyond how it has been done before § Positive outlook – always sees opportunity through any adversity § Resilient – ready to bounce back from any challenges § Assertive – gets things done when they need to be
