System Automation Administrator Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services requires a System Automation Administrator based at their client's offices in Edinburgh This is a remote role, however there may be occasional travel to the clients offices. This is a 6 months (extendable) temporary contract to start ASAP. Day rate: Competitive market rate We are looking for a System Automation Administrator with minimum 10 years' experience in System Automation Administration having advanced knowledge of NetView/System Automation: Key Responsibilities/ Key Skills Minimum 10 years' experience in System Automation administration The mainframe z/OS GDPS & System Automation specialist will work to maintain the GDPS, NetView and System Automation areas Provide technical support for customer. Own and action requests for service, implementing changes and resolving assigned problems (may involve some after hours and weekend work). Personal compliance and ownership on security, audit and systems integrity posture Highlight areas for improvement in current processes, and implement improvements Leadership Attend and actively participate in review meetings with the team leader and/or manager to discuss issues, concerns, people, ideas and workload Be a focal point in a technical and client advocate capacity and whenever rotated onto new accounts, ensure other team members are mentored to enable smooth succession of previous account Assist wider team performing advanced tasks Should be flexible to work in shifts Will be responsible for escalated and architectural issues and should take it up with the client Will be responsible for Troubleshooting the Environment issues Will be part of the technical Discussions with various stake holders. Technical Skills Fully understand basics of z/OS services & components, Parallel Sysplex, Catalog management * PARMLIB configuration * z/OS HW, LPAR, HMC, REXX, PIPE * Ability to support in solving problems and implementing changes on z/OS environments * Advanced knowledge of NetView/System Automation * Advanced knowledge of GDPS, specifically Metro-Mirror (PPRC active-active) This is a technical role which also requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience in support and deployment with z/OS Operating System, is desired Candidate Specifications Candidate should be self-organized, eager to learn with strong sense of analysis & troubleshooting skills person.
