Full-time, fixed term contract available for 10 months with possible extension New and exciting opportunity for a Research Administration Officer to join the Centre for Kidney Research at Westmead Hospital Base Salary $83,384 - $93,362 + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Sydney School of Public Health at Westmead Hospital is looking for a Research Assistant to join their team. Our research program at the Centre for Kidney Research (CKR), Sydney School of Public Health is broad-ranging and primarily aims to improve outcomes in children and adults with or at risk of kidney disease. We conduct and implement high-priority research in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care of people with or at risk of chronic kidney disease and related conditions. Our research expertise spans epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics, qualitative methods, and evidence synthesis; which we apply in chronic kidney disease and other health conditions. The Centre for Kidney Research is located at Westmead Hospital and affiliated with The Children's Hospital at Westmead . The clinical research group involves approximately 30 multidisciplinary researchers , clinicians, and administration staff, supporting key research infrastructure in kidney health, such as the, Caring for Australians and New Zealanders with kidney Impairment (CARI) Guidelines. CARI Guidelines aims to improve the quality of care and outcomes for patients with kidney disease by facilitating the development and implementation of trustworthy clinical practice guidelines based on the best available evidence. We are looking for someone with an attention to detail and the exceptional communication skills needed to recruit research participants and correspond with external stakeholders. The role will require a combination of both qualitative and quantitative research skills and administrative responsibilities in a small team (5 staff) research project. The Research Assistant addresses routine matters linked to the provision of administrative and operational support for the research work being undertaken by the work area. The Research Support Officer contributes to the development of research protocols and driving the execution of research activities. They streamline grant application processes, provide vital research-related advice, and manage data analysis. the incumbent will be expected to exercise some initiative and judgement in the preparation and submission of grant/ethics applications and research publications, ensuring requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner. Your key responsibilities will be to: undertake specific research activity, such as ethic submissions, administrative duties and recruiting study participants as part of the broader research agenda conduct literature reviews and searches to support further analysis of results and outcomes. assists with administrative duties including writing up ethics modifications, tracking finances, data logging, archiving, and assists with the administrative running of the associated projects in the Centre for Kidney Research coordinate the development and submission of research publications build relationships and manage communications with stakeholders work independently and autonomously or closely under the guidance of leadership team. About you education and experience criteria: Master's in public health ideally alongside with 1- 3 years of research experience will be preferred. Fresh graduates with some previous experience or proven skills in running or assisting with research projects are also welcome to apply well versed in science background knowledge, with demonstrated excellent communication skills experience in patient recruitment and clinical trials with a proven ability to excel in communicating with participants Data analysis and statistical analysis experience with a proven ability to report on research findings. understanding of research protocols, as well as the capability to complete ethics submissions and grant applications relevant understanding of work health and safety policy.
