THE ROLEUnder the supervision of the Manager, the Grounds Supervisor, supervise the day-to-day activities of maintenance, labour, grounds and other employees to ensure that work meets walking, snowshoeing, cycling and mountain activity trails maintenance standards. They prepare employee work schedules, verify and enter hours into the applicable payroll program, as required. They train employees and develop maintenance programs for walking, snowshoeing, cycling and mountain activity trails and related equipment. They prepare and submit detailed plans for course and cross-country ski trails construction or renovation projects. They maintain records including those related to inventory, maintenance procedures and pesticide, fertilizer, and fungicide applications. They supervise the operation of the maintenance shop, including routine equipment repair and maintenance. They assist in the preparation of the maintenance budget, which includes operating and capital expenses.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDEDEducation, Certifications and Licenses
High school diploma and several years of experience in golf course and cross-country ski trail maintenance or a related field
OR
An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered
AND
Valid Pesticide Applicator License (Province), an asset
Experience
In maintaining golf courses and cross-country ski trails
In operating tools and equipment required for golf course and cross-country ski trail maintenance
In applying policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable legislation
In budget administration
In personnel administration
