Hygiene Manager – Crewe, Cheshire Competitive Salary Monday to Friday 8.30-5.00 Permanent Excellent career progression prospects across the Bakkavor group Highly competitive reward package including group pension, private medical insurance, bonus and other flexible benefits An exciting new role has been created for a Hygiene Manager to join the team at our manufacturing site based in Crewe, Cheshire. The factory makes hand-crafted flatbreads and employs over 300 people in the factory and over 50 in its Distribution Centre. The site is located approximately 4 miles from Crewe town centre. Accountabilities He Health & Safety - To ensure that a safe working environment exists for all employees and that as a minimum the factory meets the standards set out in the SHE policy Hygiene Standards - To ensure set standards are achieved and have the drive to supersede these standards in terms of visual and microbial improvements.  To ensure that these standards are embedded throughout the Factory and demonstrated through the business Key Performance Indicators. Ownership and management of the site CIP systems in conjunction with documentation for interim and deep cleaning practices. Culture - To develop/support a culture throughout the department where individuals feel able to challenge the status quo and encourage feedback from all levels.  To drive/support continuous improvement processes/plans against all areas of accountability. Customer Service - To ensure 100% Internal & External customer service is met with consistently high quality output/product.  To represent the Company in a professional manner with both internal and external customers and develops customer confidence in the capability of the Hygiene operation. Employee Relations - To ensure that good employee relations are developed/exist throughout the shift through fair, consistent and effective application of HR policies and procedures. Manufacturing Strategy - Understands/gives input to the manufacturing strategy and Factory Operational Plan and translates these into their shift plan.  Ensures the shift plan is clearly understood and owned by the Shift team. Resource Management - To plan, organise and measure resources in terms of Productivity (people), Efficiency (equipment) and ancillary services (waste management, laundry & chemical supplies) to ensure agreed targets are met.  To ensure all targets are understood and owned throughout the team.  That results are achieved through the team, to maximise benefit and fall within expected cost parameters. Team Structure - To ensure that the appropriate team structure is in place for the shift and resourced by the right quality of people who reflect the Bakkavor values and the needs of the business.  Owns training and development of individuals within their area to enable progression to resource growth or to replace current roles, and to ensure that the necessary skills are in place at all levels supporting continuous improvement. Communication - Manages the communication process in their area to ensure that the workforce in their area is well informed on relevant business news and to encourage effective cross-functional links and that channels of communication are clear and available. Hygiene Standards - To lead and drive standards of Hygiene, Health and Safety and Technical requirements to ensure that the business and customer standards are kept and audit requirements are fully met. About you Experience of managing and motivating teams A logical and clear thinking approach particularly under pressure.
