Job Requirements / Description
Brief Description of Role (i.e. purpose of role) To support the Logistics Planning function in sourcing, booking, scheduling and planning trucking resource across a specified area or region from approved hauliers, in budget, and with a principal focus on customer service. Key Activities & Responsibilities 5% Responsible for one’s own, co-workers and stakeholders health and safety. Key Activity 2 – Administration 30% Support the Truck and Tank Planners with order and equipment status management and updates. * Job Status Updates (ETA’s / completion etc.) * Order Receipt * Depot Stock Lists * Documentation Management. Key Activity 3 – Planning Support 30% Support Truck and Tank Planners in the creation and sharing of supplier instructions for, but not limited to, trucking, tank-cleaning and product heating. Identify and book, in a timely manner, loading and delivery slots. Support Tank Planners with management of empty equipment repositioning. Key Activity 4 – Communication 20% Liaise closely and positively with the Customer Service Teams regarding customer requirements, changes, challenges and delays. Assist the Truck Planners by fielding questions from suppliers (via phone and email) and sourcing and providing the required details. key Activity 4 – Personal Development 15% Have a target of progression into a Logistics Planner role, through training, gaining experience, and a strong desire to learn and progress your career withing the intermodal bulk liquid logistics sector. Selection Criteria Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge E/D* * Competent in the use of I.T. system, outlook, excel etc. E * Good geographical knowledge D Experience * Previous roles in transport planning, cost management or within logistics industry D Competencies * An ability to work well under pressure D * Communicate with various departments to achieve common goals D * Consistently accurate and a keen eye for detail E Personal Attributes & other requirements * Calm under pressure D * Excellent team player demonstrating loyalty and commitment to the organisation and team members E * A strong willingness to learn and progress a career in logistics E *Essential/Desirable Budgetary Responsibilities None, although gaining an understanding of budgetary constraints important. KPIs * Provide accurate and timely information * Maintaining good relationships with contacts internally and externally * Proactive communication of issues Typical Problem Areas Faced in Role Insufficient or missing information Communication with stakeholders in different languages and time zones.
