We have a strong team, and we want to add to that by finding a rounded colleague Someone that can help drive our strategy, design, development move Monitoring and Alerting tooling forwards in the future but offer the technical skills we need day-to-day.

You'd be delivering consultancy to mostly infrastructure projects at solution and design stage and throughout the project management life cycle. Our function collaborates widely with many teams across the Group to meet the banks aims so an ability to listen, digest and feedback is key.

You'd also be supporting the execution of the strategy and direction of Tooling Services-SMS-EMAS and help the Service Manager in the delivery of internal team projects and initiatives in the 1-3 year plans to achieve that strategy. This includes the support, maintenance and evolution of the software products owned by the EMAS Team.

You'll lead on large-scale initiatives that span the whole of the managed estate, working effectively numerous different technical areas and providing effective communications to wider IT teams.

You'll also support the systems management infrastructure and initiatives to improve the service. This means balancing business imperatives, costs, benefits and technology futures and helping garner support within senior management.

And you'll work with customer areas to clarify and document requirements, defining test/implementation plans for new monitoring, event management & automation solutions.

Some of the tasks you'd focus on

Installing and maintaining products and services to agreed standards, policies and service levels.

Using your diagnostic skills to analyse technical information from various sources to provide highly effective solutions and service/process improvements in complex environments

Evaluating, planning and leading on new Systems Management technologies and initiatives.

Inputting into risk processes and conforming with SOX and ITEC processes

Analysing application capacity and performance

Mentoring and nurturing junior team members

About you

You've strong people leadership/followership skills to enable colleagues to be kept aware of our strategic direction impacts to the team, suggesting possible strategies for transformation.

Forward thinking, you'll ideally have the vision to support and maintain strategic roadmaps and plans for Monitoring & Event Management technologies.

Highly motivated and focused with good "self starter" capabilities, social skills and relevant product experience, you'll have the gravitas to work with senior managers within Service Delivery and business IT areas.

With an Engineering focus and an "automation 1st" ethos you'll possess a strong quality and service focus, with excellent partnering skills in order to promote our technologies to key business areas.

Here's what we're especially looking for:

You'll be a seasoned Technical professional with an in depth understanding of many Enterprise Monitoring & Alerting Toolsets including their design, management and configuration.

Experience on the pipeline delivery and management of Dynatrace on cloud platforms

Previous design/delivery solutions for Dynatrace implementations / configuration integrations / APIs.

Cloud DevOps tooling skills - GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps & Spinnaker

Scripting skills across a number of languages such as PERL , BASH, SHELL, HTML, XML, C, Java, SQL, VB, Javascript, JSP, XSLT, Python & Jython

And wider skills:

It'd be helpful if you also had technical knowledge of Traditional Platforms UNIX, AIX, Linux, Windows & VMWare

Networking skills also useful e.g. TCP/IP, SOAP, WAN Infrastructure, LAN i.e. switches / routers / firewalls / VPN's etc, HTTP / HTTP's
