Fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager to join my clients steel/structural division, working on some of the highest profile building projects in the UK.
Permanent position, paying £55-65k plus a fantastic array of benefits including a clear pathway for learning and development. (See below for further details). My client may consider offering an LTD contract (outside of IR35) if you prefer.
Duties: To successfully deliver the required packages of works in accordance with the collaborative programme dates.
To Support the Operations Director and Senior Project Manager and oversee the delivery of their assigned packages through design, construction, and handover, ensuring successful delivery in a timely manner.
Controlling the works to ensure timely and economical completion of the works and that necessary checks and inspections are conducted.
Communicating with the Client on matters relating to the project.
Ensuring that the requirements of the Company Health and Safety Management System are implemented
Ensuring the requirements of the Project Quality Plan are put into practice
Ensuring effective actions are taken to found problem
Ensuring Contract Review is undertaken following procedure
Signing outgoing correspondence
Liaison with the Project Quantity Surveyor with regards to contractual and financial implications
Indicating and ensuring the distribution of all correspondence relevant to the project is maintained
Arbitrating on the disposition of non-conformances including the approvals of corrective actions.
Development of Method Statements, ITP’s
Raising of non-conformance reports
Ensuring compliance with contract requirements with respect to Technical Information Enquiries, Instructions & Confirmation of Verbal Instructions.
Reviewing all correspondence, which may an effect on the design requirements and clarifying any uncertainties.
Co-ordinating with specialist sub-contractors to ensure prompt and economical construction interface
Liaison with the Design Engineer on programme development
Monitoring progress, reporting at weekly and monthly interval
Advising the Purchasing Department on the proposals for procurement of long lead in items.
Supplying periodic productivity information for bonus, labour & plant costing, output monitoring and material utilisation reports
Ensuring Risk Assessment is undertaken by procedures
Recording of all information necessary for the purpose of proving continuous improvement.
Liaison with the Site Manager to ensure the smooth running of the site and aiding in any way to meet contract / site requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
An effective team player with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
Initiative-taking and able to work with progressively less supervision.
A high level of professionalism and integrity when dealing with the client
An analytical eye for detail.
HNC/HND Level in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field.
Good Knowledge of NEC contracts and the administration of them.
Good knowledge of Microsoft office packages including Word and Excel.
APMP or equivalent certification in Project Management
Must have CSCS Card (Preferably Black Card)
Proven working experience in construction management
Knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
Knowledge of construction details and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
Understanding of all sides of the construction process.
Ability to plan and see the “big picture.”
