Electrical Design Engineer

Electrical Design Engineer South Wales 20469/510 £40,000 - £45,000 + excellent benefits A fantastic opportunity has come up with our clients in the Electrical Design sector. They are currently expanding and looking for a permanent employee to join their electrical team. They are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer who can demonstrate competence in the role and strengthen the current team. As part of our in-house design team, you will work on a multitude of projects in the commercial, industrial, public and healthcare sectors. Role & Responsibilities: The job will include a wide range of duties, including but not limited to the following: Ensure full compliance with current Electrical Legislation and Engineering Standards. Support the preparation and review of electrical design drawings. Working on several electrical projects simultaneously. Provide technical information required for manuals and other documentation. Liaise with BIM co-ordinators and leading activity to ensure that the design packages are produced to the required timescales and standards of quality. Provide support to the Project Managers during the design, installation commissioning and testing phases of the project, ensuring the timely production of all necessary documentation. Liaise as necessary with existing and potential customers and their representatives. Ensure that there is full adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality management policies and procedures in all work undertaken Develop and maintain relationships with relevant technical consultants and suppliers. Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Well organised with a meticulous attention to detail. Outgoing, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to take on responsibility. Good written and verbal communication skills, with a team player attitude. Current knowledge of the engineering design software available in the marketplace. Experience of working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. Modification & production of electrical documentation. Creating and modifying electrical schematics. Cable calculations (Amtech / Hevacomp). Lighting calculations (Dialux / Relux). Proven track record as an Engineer in both a design office and in construction.
